Phisut Yang Khiao Sod
He inherited his craftsmanship skills from his father, Kru Sakorn Yangkhiaosod (Joe Louis), and was trained in the art of traditional Thai small puppet performance. This inspired him to establish Thailand's first dedicated small puppet theater, Joe Louis Theater, in Nonthaburi Province in 1999. Three years later, the theater was relocated to Suan Lum Night Bazaar, where it was developed into a standard theatrical venue.
Later, the theater was granted a new royal name by Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Princess of Narathiwat, as "Nattayasala Hun Lakhon Lek (Joe Louis)", signifying its role as a national arts performance venue. Throughout his career at the Nattayasala Hun Lakhon Lek (Joe Louis) Theater at Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Phisut remained committed to preserving and promoting the art of Thai small puppet performance. He also created numerous innovative performances to continue the legacy of this unique Thai art form.
Thao Wessuwan is the supreme ruler of Asuras, Rakshasas, and spirits, upholding truth and righteousness. He is one of the Four Heavenly Kings (Chaturmaharajika Devas) and resides in the Chātumahārājika Heaven. He is known as the protector against evil forces and the deity of great fortune and immense treasures.
The sculpture of Thao Wessuwan is cast in brass (bronze), adorned with gold-plated metalwork and enamel, encrusted with genuine gemstones. It features mirror inlays arranged in a red-orange floral pattern, while the eyes, teeth, and fangs are meticulously cut from synthetic diamonds, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship.
